Do You Think Your Partner Is Worth Saving A Marriage?

Only single people will say that marriage is easy! There is nothing easy about merging your life with another person. Several decades ago, people did not divorce because they were in circumstances in which it was simply not an option women could not support themselves and society did not accept it, among many others. So many married couples split up these days. If you're having a hard time during your marriage now, then maybe you should think again if your partner and your life together is worth fighting for. Realize that a damaged marriage can be very hard to save.

When you are thinking about saving the marriage, consider your history. How did you guys meet? What was it that made you fall in love? Were you really in love? Don't forget about the good times you've had. During hard times, it's so easy to forget about all the good times you've had. But make sure you're fair.

Then, look at the bad times. Did either of you cheat? Are there other major issues that have occurred between you that one of you has a hard time dealing with? There are times when major issues can get buried over time, but the resentment is still there, and it can ruin a relationship. Are you getting mad at your spouse for trivial matters? If this is the case, you should really look at the underlying issues you have.

At one point, you should think about what a perfect spouse would be. Specifically, think of the ideal characteristics in a spouse. Then you should step back and see how your spouse measures up. You should be very careful to be realistic in this exercise. You will never be happy if your expectations are too high. But if the essential core of your spouse is lacking, you might be better off without him.

Although saving a marriage is difficult, you should not rush off and get a divorce. You should, however, try to be fair to you and your spouse and choose to both try wholeheartedly or to let go completely.
